ATMI is a Spirit of Youth program that provides journalism training for youth and creates a distribution point for teen-related news in Alaska. ATMI functions as a teen newsroom where youth work as reporters, editors and producers, under the guidance of experienced journalists. ATMI stories are aired on radio and are available on the ATMI web site. Monthly installments of “In Other News” air live on partner station KNBA in Anchorage. ATMI also provides media skills training for other teen groups.
ATMI has won a number of awards for their news stories. In 2008 the “In Other News” show was recognized as the Top Ongoing Current Affairs Program by the Alaska Press Club.
ATMI live on KNBA! ATMI is on KNBA 90.3 FM at 4pm on the fourth Saturday of every month. You can also listen in at KNBA.org. Or check out our archives here.
